The main distinction of The Physician's Practice is that we accept no third party payments. We receive no payments from insurance companies, Medicare, Medicaid, Worker's Compensation or employers. We accept payment only from the patients we treat.
This time-honored approach has many benefits. Most importantly, it allows the doctor to spend more time with patients and at a much lower cost. By not accepting insurance, the doctor has fewer distractions and is able to drastically reduce his overhead and therefore his fees.* This approach also opens the practice up to see any patient regardless of their insurance status.
While embracing tradition, The Physician's Practice incorporates modern technology. We have a "paperless" office, utilizing a powerful Electronic Medical Record system, digital EKG and instant access to all our labs through eLabCorp.

Dr. Ryan began working in Cartersville in 1995, first joining Dr. Tom Bevil and later working for Cartersville Medical Center's Occupational Medicine Clinic. During those early years he quickly recognized that third-parties often hinder a meaningful encounter between the doctor and patient. It seemed that primary care medicine would be simpler, more helpful and much less expensive if the physician chose not to become entangled with insurance companies. In April 2007 The Physician's Practice opened its 750 square foot office located in Cartersville's Grove Park Shops. In June 2008 another vision became a reality and the office moved to 84 Pine Grove Road, next to Dellinger Park. Dr. Ryan and his staff look forward to providing excellent service in this location for years to come.
Dr. Ryan is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He received his Medical Degree from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY and completed his Family Practice Residency at St. Joseph's Hospital, also in Syracuse.
